Artist Information:
Courtney Kuno '12 is currently living in Boston working on her Masters at the Museum School of Fine Arts, with a focus in oil painting and printmaking. In her recent work, she has been interested in producing vintage style travel posters and gestural color field paintings featuring the unique and beautiful landscapes of the New England region...

Remington Museum’s members’ exhibit awards announced

OGDENSBURG – Winners in the Frederic Remington Art Museum’s 2013 Members’ Juried Art Exhibition have been announced.

The 2013 Public’s Choice Award went to Denny Morreale for “Raurri at the Sandbanks, 2011.” Morreale was awarded a framed print of Frederic Remington’s 1890Director/Curator Laura Foster with 2013 Public’s Choice Award winner, Denny MorrealeDirector/Curator Laura Foster with 2013 Public’s Choice Award winner, Denny Morreale painting, Antoine's Cabin.

Best in Show went to Judy Andrus Toporcer for “Rear Window.” Second place went to Lutz Scherneck for “Two Fish Blue Pond” and the third place prize went to John Elwood Cook for “Ice House.”

The annual exhibit is open to any artist who is a member of the museum. This year, there were 49 entries by 44 artists.

2013 Members' Juried Art Exhibit

An additional public’s choice prize will be awarded based on an open vote, both at the museum and at www.fredericremington.org during the exhibit.

The cut-off for voting is September 7. The prize, a framed print on canvas of Frederic Remington’s oil painting, Antoine's Cabin, will be awarded at the museum on September 11. One vote per person, please.

Many of the works will be for sale. One third of the proceeds benefit the Frederic Remington Art Museum, and two thirds go to the artist. The exhibit will have an online gallery at www.fredericremington.org.

Denny Morreale had a photo in the Watertown Daily Times in the local images section. The title of the image was "Stroke of Genius".
